It's been awhile

It has been almost a month since I have blogged and I guess I have had bloggers block or maybe have been busy with school or being a dad but anyways I am back and here it is. It has been a strange year for me this school year. For the first time in my 13 year teaching career the New York Yankees have not been participants in the baseball playoffs. I have found it hard to decide what to do with the extra time I have had since they failed to make the playoffs. I just hope this isn't a trend I have to get used too.

Syracuse Football well it really really sucks, that is all I have to say on that.

The twins have been growing like weeds and are about ready to crawl which makes me a little bit nervous becasue now I actually have to concentrate on things I leave on the floor. They are quite adorable though and I just love picking them up and playing with them. I love the way they smile at me knowing I am their daddy but I also realize that in 13 years They will think I am the biggest idiot in the world and not as cool as I am now. I am not sure if I am looking forward to the teenage years, keeping them away from High School boys who have one thing on their mind and we know it isn't pretty good ideas. ( The last three words were in honor of my liberal responder to this blog) BUt hopefully these girls will grow up respecting their parents and lovin God and obeying his word.

Politics has been really interesting and frankly I have no idea where this race is heading. If I had to guess I would say Obama has the edge and that makes me concerned but in the end we should not depend on our leaders but on God who is in control of everything. If he wants Obama in office then so be it if he wants McCain then so be it. I just believe McCain is the right answer because he has experience and Obama doesn't have the experience I believe necessary to become president of the United States of America. When you look at the whole process, you do realize that we are blessed to be Americans and actually have a voice in this process, somewhat. Example, in South Dakota you might be a democrat but since the state has a strong republican majority your democrat vote for president doesn't really count because the republicans will more than likely win South Dakota. In New York a republican vote is useless thanks to New York City democrats. I hate the electoral college and think it is stupid, even if that means Al Gore would have won in 2000. Growing up in New York State people would be suprised how much of that state is conservative. If you had a map of New York and red was republican and blue democrat, the entire state would be red with the exception to the south eastern space known as New York City. I often wonder what our founding fathers were thinking about this college. To me it is an insult to my vote but as an American I will fufill my civic duty and vote.

Well that is all for now, headline I will not be writing the next time I Blog.

1. Syracuse football makes a turn for the better and is headiung for a bowl game
2. Wyoming's recount to determine Presidential race.
3. Canadian Airforce set to attack North Dakota's naval base
4. Yankees win the World Series

Why don't we see this on TV

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2mzbuRgnI4

I love this video, but amazingly you didn't see this reported on the Major Networks except for Fox who I admit is not a democrat friendly news channel. Joe Biden is in Missouri speaking when he mentions State Senator Chuck Graham for some recognition, he tells hm to stand up but he forgot one thing, Chuck Graham is in a wheel chair, so apparently Joe Biden now thinks he's Benny Hinn( http://www.bennyhinn.org/default.cfm ) and can heal people, He's been healed it's a miracle. I just find this humorous and not an issue for this election but If Sarah Palin, or John McCain did this, it would have been plastered all over the networks and people would be saying oh they don't pay attention to detail, they can't do well under pressure, etc..... Just a thought.

IF IT AIN'T BROKE DONT FIX IT!!!!!!!!!!

Ladies and Gentlemen I have a beef with somehting that happened Monday night and I want to share my thoughts with you. In 1814 Francis Scott Key was sitting on a British ship watching the horrific bombing of Fort McHenry when he noticed an American flag still waving after all the bombing. He wrote a poem about this flag. Later it was sung to a tavern tune, aka a beer drinking song but this I have no problems with. It is our country's song and it has a simple melody but is one of the hardest songs to sing because it has a wide range. The thing that really angers me is when some people http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R21LeB9ihRE decide they are going to put their artistic freedom into this song. Monday night, Kat Deluna a supposedly pop music star who is 20 years old, performed this song for a national tv audience for the Dallas Cowboy-Philadelphia Eagle Monday Night Football Game. She started rather nicely keeping it simple but then she added some embelishments in the song and started changing her voice quality. In the background you hear some cheers but it is not for her but for fireworks being set off in the background. It really sucks towards the end and she doesn't even come close to finishing the song on the key she started. Also during this time she had a look of severe constipation on her face as she appeared to strain for every note. She was booed by the crowd and frankly I don't blame them it was downright horrible. I would rather listen to Walrus's Fart 2 feet away than that awful display. Up above I posted a link for this performance, I warn you put your kids to bed before you watch this and lock your doors because this is plain awful. So if you learn anything from this remember the National Anthem is not broken, so don't FIX IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One More Time

I have been a teacher for 13 years and each year I have taught, the New York Yankees have been involved in the Baseball Playoffs. This is the year they aren't and I am concerned about what I will do with my free time. I refuse to watch baseball on TV unless it is the Yankees playing. So I have compiled a top 10 list of things for me to do with my free time.

1. Learn to knit sweaters and crap like that
2. get my ears and nipples pierced just for fun
3. Get a tattoo
4. Brew beer in my garage
5. Form a Polka Band
6. Enter the Presidential race on the Trombonist Party Ticket. Our mission statement is we let things slide
7. Buy a pet elephant and raise it in my back yard, then in the spring have an elephant roast and invite the whole town of Lusk
8. Root for Syracuse football, but find out that it doesn't even exist
9. Organize my lesson plans better, keep up gradebook, school stuff, etc....
and the # 1 thing I can do with my suddenly free time thanks to the ineptness of the NY Yankees,
1. Spend time with my family the most important people in my life.

OK one last thought. Most of you know that I am a conservative republican and am not afraid to say so but I wanted to point out something I saw today that definitely threw out all parties and was bipartisan. I drove into my schools parking lot today and this one vehicle of a students had some bumper stickers on it that made me pay attention. One sticker said Bush/Cheney America's second choice. Another sticker said No War in Iraq. Looking at these two sticker made me conclude that this person was indeed a liberal Democrat. But one sticker really threw me for a loop and that was a NASCAR sticker for Dale Earnheardt Sr. I thought that if a person was a NASCAR fan they had to be a redneck republican. So it is obvious that his person is reaching out to the republicans. It made me chuckle and also in a funny way realize that even if things seem messed up we live in the greatest country of all time.

Ranting and Raving

A few days ago, a former co worker of mine showed me an interesting article on keloland.com a TV station in Sioux Falls, SD. It was about a State Board of Education Board representative saying that the State of South Dakota inadequately funds education. This particular person is a superintendent of a Class A school in Northeastern South Dakota and frankly his comments are correct, the state of South Dakota does a poor job in funding education. So let's look into why the state legislature does not fund education well. First a person needs to understand the school budget and the four categories it contains. There is the General Fund which pays for teachers salaries, supplies and equipment etc...,. Then there is the Capital Outlay fund which pays for building improvements and repairs, no money designated in the Capital outlay fund can be used for salaries or supplies. Then there is the Special Education fund which is used for obvious reasons. The last category is the pension fund which is used for retirement money for employees of the district. This money more than likely is invested for profit. Each school gets an allotted amount of money from the state and from taxes collected from the county of the schools town. Each category mentioned above gets a certain amount of money. When the school year ends if there is money left over then schools can put the money into the reserve funds to use anytime they please. In the general fund schools are allowed to have, by state law, a 25% reserve fund in the bank, meaning for example, if a school districts general fund budget was 100 dollars and they had 30 dollars left over at the end of the year, legally they can bank 25 of those dollars. A lot of schools in South Dakota have built up a high reserve fund, many schools over the 25% mark. What happens if the school has a higher reserve than 25%, the school gets penalized by the state and is required to pay a portion back to the state. Many schools are doing this because the interest they earn from investing those general fund reserves each year is greater than the penalty they pay back to the state. So if I am a legislator, I have a hard time giving money to schools that take that approach and don't use it all. It seems ridiculous to give more to schools when some districts have a lot left over. Now, you might say so then how is South Dakota inadequately funded and the answer is that a majority of schools in South Dakota are struggling and when they tally up their reserves they are at 0% or in some cases in the red. These schools desperately need funding but the districts who continually rack up these huge reserve funds hurt these schools. The state of South Dakota needs to reexamine the reserve funds percentage and make changes to make schools use this money to pay teachers, who are highly qualified and valuable to communities. I have to say I left South Dakota as a teacher because I could make 17,000 dollars a year more than I would in South Dakota. The town I moved into in Wyoming actually has a cost of living less than the town l lived in South Dakota. It makes me upset in a way because I loved South Dakota and the school I taught at, it was a hard decision to leave, but I saw little being done to insure educators of staying in the state legislature and the local school board and the superintendent. (I also hated AAT, only people from BHCS will know what I mean) Going back to the state board member who said SD inadequately funds schools, his district is one of the biggest abusers of the reserve funds. His school currently has a reserve fund of Approximately 1.5 million dollars which is about 45-50%. ( these are guesses but pretty close) and he has the nerve to say in a courtroom that South Dakota does not provide enough funding for schools. He needs to realize that he is part of the problem and not the solution.

Way to Go Part 2

Today has been a good day for me. We traveled to Rapid City, SD today to visit with family. We attended an event that was held for Downs Syndrome called the Buddy Walk. We actually missed the first part of the event but were able to catch the final act, a concert featuring two guys and a fellow named Chris Burke. Chris Burke was the guy who played Corky on the TV series Life Goes on a long time ago. He also starred in ER for one episode. He was great. We attended this because we have a niece who has Down's Syndrome. Anyways as I was thinking about people with Down's Syndrome it just made me realize why God put people with Down's Syndrome on the Earth. If you ever pay attention to people like this you will notice one thing and that is they love everyone unconditionally. They do not judge people nor care what hey do for a living, hgow they look, what color skin they have, if they are Republican or democrat, they give love unconditionally. That is what God wants from everybody on Earth. People with Downs Syndrome are God's gift to us because they are models of how we should have relationships with one another.

Now for the Way to Go part 2 part. Today in Syracuse a "college football team" gave up 42 points and 500 yards of offense and ended up losing 42-28. Now here is the absolute horrible part, it was to Akron University a team from Akron, Ohio who play their home games in the Rubber Bowl. (insert your own jokes please). Akron University Zips, please!!!!!!!!! How has a once strong program fallen so far behind that it loses to the Akron Zips? This is the lowest of lows for the Syracuse football program indeed. I am extremely embarrassed to admit that I even follow this collection or Orange Stool Samples. It is obvious that the players don't care, the coaches don't coach and the team can't win. I see some changes coming up really fast and I am afraid it will not be pretty.

OMG! Yankees win, theeeeeeeee Yankees win. Can't believe it mariners must have been drunk or stoned. Not only did the yankees win but the Red Sox, Twins, and Rays all lost meaning the Yankees actually gained a game in the standing making them only 7.5 games behind the wild card. Miracles happen and this is one I don't anticipate arriving at the doorstep this season.

Good night and remember you can't spell sucks without SU.

Wow what an effort

Man if you want to see an example of hard work look no farther than the New York Yankees. They have played two great games lately last night in Tampa Bay losing only 7-5 and tonight in Seattle losing only 3-1. Man they are gritty, it is awesome to watch the likes of Alex Rodriguez hustle to first after a double play ground ball that ends an inning. It is great to see rookie pitchers from the other team almost throw a no hitter against one of the supposedly most powerful lineups in baseball. This team is sure exciting to watch like last night in Tampa getting behind 7-0 until the 9th inning when they scored 5 runs because they finally decided they gave a rat's donkey. And wow they had a great offensive apporach to this Bone Marrow or whatever his name was for the Mariners. it was the guys first frickin start in Major League baseball and the Yankees rudely welcomed him by getting their first hit in the eighth inning. Way to go Yankees your sense of urgency, hustle, enthusiasm, timely hitting, great defense has surely inspired me this baseball season. I am looking forward to see how you do in the playoffs once you overcome the 8 and 1/2 games you are behind in the wild card. I have never been more proud of my Yankees than I Have this season, way to go , SCHMUCKS!!!!!!!!!!

It's been a while

It has been a while since I have blogged luckily we haven't had many things in the news to report about. I would say that the news in America has been slow the last 10 days not much going on. I did read about some hurricane that hit Louisiana and there were a couple of conventions that took place and I even heard that someone from Alaska is the vice presidential candidate for John McCain. I even heard a rumor that it was a women. Hard to believe if you ask me, one I didn't think Alaska even had a government I thought they just lived on their own in eskimo villages and every now and then drilled a hole in the ground for oil to burn for winter heat. I also didn't know they had women in Alaska man was I surprised now I guess it is back to square one for the men in Alaska. Ok all kidding aside what an eventful last couple of days. When I first read that McCain picked this Governor, I thought what is he doing? Who is she? Well I think it is obvious that McCain is capable of making very good intelligent decision by this choice. She has generated a renewed excitement in the Republican Party and has created a lot more interest in this election than before she was nominated. I think this election is going to be a landslide. Barack Obama ( By the way the spell check on here says Barack O'bama is spelled wrong, that's because he doesn't belong)has run out of steam and now they will be forced to try and bring up dirt on Palin and say nasty things that will eventually wear thin with Americans. (The last two sentences is an opinion of the blogger not necessarily the opinion of blogspot.com although he is 100% correct)

In other events Syracuse Football is back and man what excitement it generated in my life. Last Saturday I anxiously awaited for 10:00 a.m. to watch SU play Northwestern on ESPN2. I was excited for a new season and was hoping to see improvement from last year. Opening kickoff SU marches down the field and eventually kicks a field goal but I was so amazed that the offense moved so efficiently nothing I had seen that last three seasons. Then I came crashing down to earth the next 3 hours and watched Northwestern make adjustments to SU and beat them 30-10. Luckily for me SU doesn't have another game on TV with the exception of the National Championship game they will play in January when they run the table and win the next 11 games finishing 11-1. Be right back time to take my medication for all the delusional thoughts I have been having lately. (Don't take Grape Seed Extract) Ok I am back, let's see what I wrote here, SU , 11-1 huh...? man was I drunk or something. I would be surprised if they win 3 games this year and I am totally serious. I feel for Greg Robinson the coach, but he should probably become an AMWAY salesman because he can sell a blind man contact lenses. He has fooled the Syracuse fans into thinking that SU actually has a football team. In all reality he is the head of the drama department and has staged practices that were filmed to make it appear that SU has a football team. His favorite type of plays are obviously tragedies and occasionally a comedy. Back to AMWAY, Greg I'll buy a case of shampoo and some soap just give me a call.

Don't get me started on the Yankees.

NFL starts and Buffalo plays the lowly Seattle
Seahawks, who suck so bad that even the Hoover Vacuum cleaner company is scared of them. But the Bills will probably find a way to lose thus leaving me with no ammunition when a few of my friends attack me about this game.

Well thanks for stopping by and I will be better at keeping this updated more
often than I have been.

Well, I did it again!

I said something totally stupid that could come back to haunt me, but if it does then maybe it is worth it. A bunch of guys here in Lusk get together once a year and have a drawing for fantasy football. It isn't complex it involves picking teams in college football and pro football and you get points if your selected team wins and you get points if your teams you selected to lose, lose. Anyways being a Syracuse fan usually can guarantee a few wisecracks from the people gathered there. Well someone said what would I do if Syracuse made it to a bowl game and without thinking I said ha! if they made it that far I wold walk from Lusk to Douglas,WY a distance of 55 miles. Well too many people heard me make that comment so if Syracuse makes it then I guess I have to do it. If they make it then that means SU football is getting better and that wouldn't be too bad but me and my big mouth. So to recap earlier you might have read that I said if the Yankees make the playoffs I would walk to Two Dot, MT. It is still mathematically possible for both scenarios to happen so pay attention the next couple of weeks.

We had U.S. Senator John Barrasso from Wyoming talk to our student body yesterday and it made me concerned about our young kids especially ones who are 18 and getting ready to vote for the first time. He started his discussion asking people who they were going to vote for and why they were and people got up and said, Barack Obama offers us choices, Or John McCain has the most experience. What gets me is that these kids have heard all of this rhetoric on TV and they are just spewing it out not even knowing what they are saying, and they are getting a say on yours and mine future. We need to get these youngsters more involved in the process and help them understand what issues are important and where exactly the candidates stand. Another part of the assembly that was interesting was a question he posed asking what would we do if we were president of the U.S. Some interesting answers but the one that made my jaw drop too the floor was when one girl said we need to stop drilling oil in Alaska and stop shipping it all to Iraq. Yup one of the 18 year old voters in this country. I so badly wanted to get up and say something but it was not my place. I guess in the end of all this political BS we just need to realize that we can't depend o our leaders. We must depend on God to protect us. All politicians are the same, windbags who refuse to conserve energy by shutting up.

In my final thought this assembly I was talking about earlier also brought up the idea of electric cars. I think this is a great idea. Use less gas and depend on electric instead. It sure would be nice to travel to my inlaws , a 20 mile trip, and not have to buy gas. The only thing I would get worried about is finding an extension cord that is 270 miles long and wouldn't get tangled if I took a curve too sharply or met another vehicle traveling the opposite way. I also can't imagine what it would cost for a 270 mile extension chord. I guess I will cross that bridge when I come to it. (OK I am not stupid I know you don't drive with the cord, just thought I would say it in case some of you thought I was serious)

A New Story

Here is a story about a guy who is taking a trip in his car and has 162 miles to go. To protect this mans identity let's call him Alex. Anyways, Alex starts on his trip and decides that he doesn't need to use the bathroom before he goes. He keeps travelling and after 43 miles his tummy starts rumbling. he thinks this will get better no need to stop. He keeps driving. Mile 64 his tummy is feeling bad and he has gas. He thinks no problem this is going to pass and I will get to where I need to go. Mile 97 he is in excruciating pain but he goes on. Rest area at mile 108 but he decides that he doesn't need to stop he can hold. He is approaching mile 130 and he keeps going only to have a huge explosion and needless to say he is having a bad trip. He now has a mess and he isn't going to get to his destination on time, he has two choices keep going or stop and clean it up and hope for the best. What is the point of this story?

The above story=2008 New York Yankee Baseball Season.

Fisrt Day

Today was the first day of school for students and it was a nice day for me. I usually dread the first few day as a band director because there always surprises that come your way, like one kid moving or another kid dropping band but this year the only surprise I got were a few new kids in band. The first few weeks of band are not very pleasant to a directors ear. Of course all my kids practiced over the summer, but they sounded quite rusty for the first rehearsal, but... they sounded 800 times better than they did last year at the first rehearsal so if I can get over the first two weeks of listening to the likes of a car horn factory, then this will be a successful year. My choir sounded good to and my guitar classes have students who are complete beginners so this year I actually feel like I know more than they do since it is my second year teaching guitar. Tomorrow are my jazz groups so they should be entertaining this year.

Tonight is the last stand for the Yankees. They play a 3 game set with the Red Sox and frankly if they don't sweep I think you write this season off. I have to admit that they took care of business by sweeping the Orioles and finally are playing with a sense of urgency. In their defense they have had some bad injuries to pitchers this year. 60% of their original starting pitchers have been injured for a long period of time. If they were even to make it into the playoffs this year would prove to me that Babe Ruth does have some influence with God.

GIRLS TURN SIX MONTHS TODAY!!! hard to believe that is was six months ago, sometimes when I think about it the time flew by and sometimes I think wow this has been a long six months. The girls are doing great growing like weeds. They sleep through the night and both eat great. We definitely have been blessed and look forward to more blessings.

Finally the Buffalo Argonauts selected Marion Barber Running back, Dallas Cowboys as it's first pick in the Yahoo Fantasy Football league LEAGUE OF CHAMPIONS. I didn't think I drafted a strong team but I drafted a consistent quality team. Can't believe I stayed up for four hours doing the live draft. I guess I won't grow up at certain times. So root for the Buffalo Argonauts this year and be supportive of your Buffalo Argonauts. Go team!

It's Over

As I sit here tonight with the thought that I am contractually obligated to attend school inservice tomorrow, I have come to the realization that it is over. No more fun, no more optimism, no more excitement, of course I am talking about the New York Yankees baseball season. Somehow they are 11 games out of first place and 6.5 games out of the wild card. For the last three years I have been telling my wife that this is it for the Yankees, this is the year they don't make the playoffs. Well this year it is going to happen. If they actually make the playoffs, I will walk from Lusk Wyoming to Two Dot, Montana. It has been amazing what the Yankees have been able to do since I began teaching. When I was student teaching in West Yellowstone, MT in 1995 was the year the Yankees made the playoffs for the first time in many years. They lost to the Mariners in a thrilling series. After that they have been in the playoffs every year I have been teaching. So now what will I do with the time I have because frankly, I will not watch baseball unless the Yankees are playing, I find it boring. I know I actually said that. I must be getting old because I no longer like to watch NFL football as much as I did when I was younger. But I still have the weakness for Syracuse basketball.

I wanted to update you on my inflating tires situation. As you know Obama has informed the country that if we all inflated our tires we would get better gas mileage and would make up the difference in the new oil we are about to drill. Well I inflated my tires and I am proud to say I have averaged about .23467 more miles per gallon, which has saved me approximately 16 cents. So the saving keep racking up. Pretty soon I can afford that operation I have been saving up for.
I was very happy to see Republican California Governor Arnold Swartzenager (SP) get on board with this and tell people this. I feel like going out side and singing America The Beautiful since I am such a great citizen.

I do have to go back to school tomorrow thus ending my summer vacation. I am going to be sad that I am not going to get to spend as much time with Iris, Derek and the Girls but I am also excited to get back to school and start a new year. This year is going to be a much better year for me personally that last year. Last year I had these things going on. I moved to a new town, I tried to buy a house only to have the deal fall through at the last second because of a water leak that was not disclosed, my wife was pregnant with twins!, She was put on bed rest, we began the process of buying another house, this house was a mobile home on a huge lot so finding financing became more difficult because it was a mobile home, I had a tooth pulled, I had a new job, we finally got a loan for the new house, we moved on the coldest day of the year, my wife was on bed rest and my mother in law and mom came to help Iris out, The twins were born in Rapid City,SD on Feb. 26, 2008, They were taken to the NICU because they had some lazy breathing habits which is normal for premature kids, 10 days later my mom died in our house, I flew to NY for a funeral, and the last few months started to get normalized. I am finding it hard to believe I will have that much stuff going on in my life this year. Even with all of that going on I had a successful year with the music department, so I am definitely looking towards a better year this year, but I will miss being with my family. Ok enough whining, I Will survive.

The Greatest Feat Ever?

I don't know about you but I was anticipating the Olympics today and could hardly wait to watch Michael Phelps attempt to earn his 8th Gold Medal. I surely wasn't disappointed because his 400 IM relay team won the Gold giving him his 8th gold medal something no Olympic athlete has ever accomplished in one Olympic session. I am not sure if I will ever see this again, but I do know that I witnessed something great. My only hope is that we don't find out in the future that he was using illegal substance to gain the advantage. Frankly, I am surprised that we never heard any rumors about drug use, all I know he is one of the greatest swimmers I have ever seen.

NBC has had pretty good coverage of the Olympics but I do have to complain about tonight's coverage to start. Now let me say that I am in know way demeaning the accomplishments of these athletes in any way. The first thing NBC covered tonight was the Women's marathon and I thought to my self they surely won't show the whole thing. I was wrong they did show the whole thing except for a few cutaways to track and field. Now these marathon runners are tough to say the least but It is not exciting to me and I suppose many viewers to watch someone run and run and run and run and run and run and run and run and run and run and run and run and run and run and run and run, you get my drift. They could have had little documentaries on some of the runners or maybe showed some highlights from Ping Pong or Archery or some sports you never see on TV. Anyways I kept watching because I wanted to see history tonight and by the time the marathon was finished I wasn't even overly upset that I had to watch it, it is always neat to see someone winning a race and having that proud moment of accomplishing something.

OK now to a different subject, most of you know I am a huge fan of Syracuse University Sports, especially basketball. The basketball team has been in the news at times this summer and it isn't for excellent community service. three players which I can't name because I am sure they read my blog on a consistent basis were under investigation by a grand jury for sexual assault charges against a former female SU student. The investigation turned out so many inconsistencies in the story that the DA and the Grand Jury did see any evidence to indict them on these charges. From lawyers I know, which is 2, I have been told that you do not need very much evidence to get an indictment. I mean you need very little evidence to get an indictment and these guys were cleared. Now here is the part I don't get, Syracuse University performed there own investigation and declared these athletes on probation and I believe they are required to do 30 hours of community service. Interesting that they can do this when a court of law couldn't even find enough evidence to indict them. The university did this because they said the girl, who has withdrawn from school, has suffered mental anguish over this issue. Well sure she has but when she has so many inconsistencies in her testimony and the two incidents she claims come one month apart perhaps maybe she is lying thinking a big payday is coming her way, or perhaps she made a bad error in judgement like these players did. I wonder if alcohol was involved. Anyways I do not condone the behavior of these basketball players but I think SU had no business putting their noses in this since the DA and the grand jury did their job. The bottom line is that these players need to get smart, grow up and learn that they are high profile citizens and there are people out there willing to make false claims against them. Ok enough of my soapbox. It was sure nice to see Brett Favre throw a TD pass tonight even if do hate the Jets. Good night.

The Day After

Hello All,

All I am going to say is visit www.naet.com and review the content on the website. As you know I decided to try this treatment for allergies in Hot Springs, SD. The dr. there is in his mid 80's and let's just say is in great health and shape. He ran me through a bunch of allergy testing and amazingly enough I am allergic to the same things I was allergic to when I tested with a medical dr. Then I was treated four time for various allergens, cotton, wheat, corn, chicken, pollen, and weeds. No shots or drugs. All I am going to say is that I have been having trouble with asthma this summer and have been using an inhaler every 4-6 hours on a somewhat regular basis. I haven't even felt the need to use the inhaler since yesterday morning. I am breathing a whole lot better and am convinced for now that this is working. I will keep you posted. I need to go back and get treated for many more allergens like grass, trees, dust, chocolate, amino acids, nuts, and other things. You can get 4 treatments a day because you have to wait 2.5 hours in between treatments and you can only get treated one thing at a time with the exception of a few things that can be combined.

Evan's Plunge was a huge disappointment to say the least. It cost my family 30 dollars to basically go swimming in a normal pool that wasn't heated as warm as I thought it would be. My advice is go to a motel with a pool if you want to pay a lot of money for swimming.

You know what my favorite question is becoming to be from people we meet. They look at our two girls and ask, "Are they twins" Some day if I am ever in a bad mood I am going to say, uhmm you think so, what gave it away, the fact you see two babies in the stroller? I am always tempted to say no one is from Iris and the other is from my second wife who I have stored away in central Kansas. I do realize though that they are trying to be friendly and are making conversation.

Telemarketers are driving me nut but I would like to report to you that I have made a telemarketer hang up on me. We keep getting this annoying cal from someone trying to sell us an extended warranty for our vehicle. When I answer the phone it is a recording and this time I decided to press one to talk to a representative. He got on the phone and asked me what year and model my vehicle is and I said 2006 Schwinn Bicycle. He said "Good Bye" and hung up on me. I have defeated a telemarketer. They called again today and I pushed 1 again this time with the intent to say a 1971 Ford Pinto. But the representative never answered the phone so hopefully they will call again but we did sign up for the do not call list. I do have some other things you can say to a telemarketer when yo are not interested in their product. Have them say the whole spiel and ask them to repeat it because you are still not sold. Ask them how they got your number since you don't even own a phone. My favorite one that I have used a few times is to interrupt the telemarketer in the middle of his spiel and say aww excuse me I just pooped my pants I have to go. So go out there and have some fun at these telemarketers expense. It makes you feel better and is a great way to blow off steam.

To the Quack Dr. and Evan's Plunge

Tomorrow I get to have some interesting experiences in life. The first experience I get is going to an 85 year old Dr. who practices natural medicine and has some weird ways to treat people. I normally would not even consider this but so many people in this town have sworn by the guy saying that he has treated their allergies effectively. I am going to try it oping that my wheat allergy can be fixed as well as allergies to ragweed and crap like that. I will let you know if this works or if I get ripped off. The next experience is going to Evan's Plunge in Hot Springs, SD which is the same place the quack doc is located. It is a water slide park that is fed by natural hot springs, hence the name Hot Springs, SD. I just love the name of the place, but usually when I hear Evan's plunge it just reminds me of a plugged toilet not that you needed to visualize that image.

- One week until teachers report to work
- Yankees suck, lost to Twins
- 4 out of 5 podiatrists recommend that people where shoes when walking over broken glass on a bridge heading west during a full moon and in the evening.

Ah this is living

Wyoming has its annual state fair in Douglas, Wyoming located on the eastern side of the state which makes it geographically challenged for many Wyoming residents to attend. None the less the fair had Pig wrestling tonight. This was an event where winning pig wrestling teams from all of the county fairs in Wyoming could compete as well as other teams if there were enough spots. The ladies from the church I attend entered the contest as an at large team meaning they did not win the county fair tournament. Pig wrestling is quite simple; you get 4 people and you enter a ring and go and grab the pig and place him in a barrel butt first. You do this in a muddy pit where you get absolutely no traction and the mud is bentonnite (spelling?) and from what I hear it is quite slippery. each team gets 1 minute to corral the pig and put him in the barrel. Did I mention they also grease the pig. Anyways the ladies known as the Bacon Lady tackler's (BLT's) did a great job tonight they got the pig in the barrel at the last second of a minute. It didn't get them to place in the tournament but it gives them great momentum for next year. They now will retreat into there homes for a few weeks before they return to a new and improved winter regimen of pig wrestling practices. It is amazing that with the pigs constant squealing that PETA hasn't stormed into Douglas and demanded that the pigs be released and the wrestling stopped. I guess if they discontinue this event they can replace this money making operation with a pancake and sausage or bacon breakfast.

On another note the Yankees won a game tonight thanks to the Minnesota Twins. The Twins have been very cooperative to the Yankees this season. Should be a fun day tomorrow, good night.

Fantasy Football

Well it is football season is right around the corner and that can mean only one thing, FANTASY FOOTBALL. Oh yeah a bunch of adults who pick a bunch of football players that are on their team and they keep track of statistics every Sunday and hope they can score more points than there opponent that week. These type of people have a mind set all week that they are actually involved in the game and that the players actually play for them. Man we live in a fantasy world and I can't believe millions of people actually take time out of their lives to do this activity. So with that in mind, my team the Buffalo Argonauts are in the League of Champions in Yahoo Fantasy Football, and this is the year that I win it all!

Yard Sales, you can learn alot about a person from his yard sale.

Hello All

Today was a fun filled day of going to Yard Sales. This is a nice way of buying new toys for our son at very low prices except we paid 25.00 for this remote control fire truck, because our son is a firefighter nut who claims he will be a firefighter some day. Did I mention that he is deathly afraid of real fire so he has a ways to go.

To me the amazing thing about yard sales is the uhmm stuff that people put out there that they think actually will sell, for example; stained tupperware, old convenient store coffee mugs from the 1980's, underwear, (briefs whitey tightys), old exercise equipment, old gloves, knit hats, etc... Wouldn't it be nice if you cold pull up to a yard sale and see a nice 37" flat screen TV for a dollar, or a washer and dryer set, a pool table, a jacuzzi something useful other than an old 1980's coffee mug, "Gee Maude this looks like that cup I lost when I went to vote for Ronald Reagan in 84, give me a nickel I have to have it!" I think people should just take the above mentioned crap and throw it away immediately instead of spreading it out on tables or the lawn because you are going to have to pick it up later again! But then again I am not a professional Yard Saler.

On a sadder note today Bernie Mac died. He was a comedian who I really knew nothing about but I will always remember the day he died because when we were at a second hand store today, the radio was playing and the news came on and the announcer said, "BERNIE MAC IS DEAD", and said it with flair. He could have said, Bernie Mac died today due to complications from Pneumonia but he just came right to the point. Since Bernie Mac was a comedian I am sure he thought it was great. Well that is all to report thanks for tuning in.

Politics

OK I am starting to get weary of this campaign and there are 88 days to go! Personally I am a conservative who has voted mostly republican every election. This year I am torn because I don;t like either candidate. I especially am leery of Obama because he has turned from a like able guy to an arrogant jerk in just a few months. I love his answers telling how America isn't what it once was, and in other words what a bad country we are. I love his wife saying for the first time in her adult life she was proud of her country. As one radio personality said today these guys are trying to display that they are part of something they have never experienced. The Obama's I am quite sure are not living in poverty, are not struggling to put food on the table, are not struggling to put gas in their vehicles. But the thing that really irritates me about Obama is his latest statements about saving gas and conserving energy. He says that we could save 3-4% of our oil if we inflated tires properly and had tune ups on our cars. He is campaigning for the Presidency of The Unite States and all he can say for a sound bite is INFLATE OUR TIRES PROPERLY!!!!! What a crock of Shittake mushrooms. I would have respected him if continued to talk about alternative energy and things that liberals say will save the planet, but tires, doesn't he have anyone who could have told him not too say dumb things like this. Then when defending himself from people making fun of him he actually defends this by saying "experts" say this and the republicans take pride in being ignorant. It is true that inflating tires properly does help gas mileage but let's not make it out to be that our world will be saved by every American doing this.

If this is the direction our country is going in, I am going on record right now and opening a chain of stores spread all along the interstates of our country called OTP's (Obama's Tire Pressure) which a car can drive up and for 2.99 get a reading of the PSI in their tires. If they need more air it will be .10 a PSI either in the bad or good. I will also have roadside delivery for those who can recognize while travelling that they are not getting the extra mile per gallon. I will also develop a radar type reading machine that will be able to measure your tire pressure while travelling up to 100 miles per hour. This will aid the law enforcement in enforcing the rules of tire pressure which if Obama is elected will probably be one of his first acts as Commander in Chief. I am going to profit from this, and I can't wait.

Friday August 8,2008

Well life is exciting in the big metropolis of Lusk,WY. I spent today sanding an old table that I am preparing to stain. Of course I have to listen to talk radio because it looks ridiculous if I am talking to myself. Which I do every now and then, but I never answer myself. Anyways the big thing today was John Edwards and his extra-marital affair and how he was caught in a lie by of all "news" organizations, the National Enquirer. This guy is a jerk, to say the least. His wife is battling cancer, and he goes out and does this, he deserves all of this publicity and if it ruins his political life oh well, can't get congress to do anything anyways! Later we went to an open house to welcome our newest Doctor to the community. It is important to have good physicians in our town because the nearest hospital here is 55 miles away. I hope she and her family can adjust to the community and settle in here.

OK this is my first blog so I should introduce who I am. I am a music teacher for the school district here. I teach High School Band, Choir, Guitar, Theory, Jazz Band, Show Choir and Middle School Band. My wife of 8 years is a local daycare provider who will have up to 9 kids at once God bless her! My oldest son just turned 6 and will be starting kindergarten this year. My twin daughters are 5 months old and they are the cutest babies ever and you will never win an argument against me. My family is involved in our local church Lusk Alliance church. God is very important in our lives and controls every aspect of it. We strive to be more like him every day.

Well I am going to wrap this up and I notice that the Yankees are losing again10-5 to the Angels. Just seems like they are never going to overcome the Angels. This team has problems with its pitching and keeping players healthy but in my years of life I have learned that sports are a game and not a determining factor in how you should live your life from day to day. Well goodnight and more of my ramblings later.
